"My goal in education is to never stop learning… to continue my education regardless of how much I’ve learned. Currently, I am saving for Graduate school to obtain my Masters in Public Policy.
As the newly appointed Chair of the Young Alumni Council, I intend to build on the accomplishments of the past year. My focus this year is on growing active participation from our recent grads and growing the organization of the Young Alumni Council."
"My goal in education is to achieve a Master’s in Public Administration
In this particular college, I believe the bridge from SMC to the 4 year university is essential. For those who are only obtaining the AA, our Alumni Association can be the source or bridge between their AA and assisting them to move forward in their careers (i.e. career workshops). Further, our Alumni Association is here to motivate the current student population, demonstrating that their presence matters."
"I seek a Doctorate in Education, specializing in Adult Basic Education and Technical Training
I intend to help advocate for policies and activities that promote greater opportunities for alumni of SMC."
"My time at SMC was life changing and after I transferred I always found a special connection with other students who had also transferred from SMC. I realized that the shared bond was the feeling of an alum, so I hope to activate the network and spread the word that having an SMC experience changes your life."
"My future direction of study will be in the field of Education. I wish to teach elementary school students and serve as an outreach coordinator for local universities.
As a recent graduate, I have a network system with a variety of organizations around the LA area. In addition, I’m a team player, able to work with others, highly organized and detail oriented. I believe these skills are vital to my role as a membership chair on the Young Alumni Council."
"I seek a Masters in Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate. One day I want to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Tsang and be President of Santa Monica College.
An alumni association is at the heart of being the change that you want to see in the community."
