SANTA MONICA COLLEGE PRESENTS “QUARTET: 4 SHORT PLAYS BY SAMUEL BECKETT’”
Performances at Studio Stage October 28-November 6
The Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department is pleased to present “QUARTET: 4 Short Plays by Samuel Becket” October 28-November 6 at the Theatre Arts Studio Stage on the SMC main campus, 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.
Beckett, awarded the 1969 Nobel Prize for Literature, creates a surreal world in his four plays –“Come and Go,” “What Where,” “Catastrophe,” and “Quad” – in which characters are propelled by undetermined forces, and humanity is revealed in unexpected ways. “Come and Go” is considered by many critics to be one of the most “perfect” plays written by the master of minimalistic precision.
Show times are 8 p.m. on Friday, October 28 and November 4, and on Saturday, October 29 and November 5. Early shows are at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 3 and on Sunday, November 6. Matinees are at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, Saturday, November 5, and Sunday, November 6. Late arrivals seated at management discretion. No video feed offered in lobby area.
Advance tickets are $10 plus a service charge, and can be purchased by going towww.smc.edu/studiostage or by calling (310) 434-4319 or (310) 434-3005 Monday through Friday. Tickets are $3 higher at the door. Parking is free on Friday evenings and weekends.
